The Gypsum Products Association (GPA), formerly the Gypsum Products Development Association, has launched a new name and brand identity signalling its commitment to a safe, sustainable, and skilled future for the construction industry.
Representing the UK and Ireland’s leading gypsum-based building product manufacturers, the GPA serves as the voice of the sector. It works closely with policy-makers, trade associations, and the wider construction community to provide clear, evidence-based guidance that promotes the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and competence in the specification and use of gypsum products.
A material that shapes our built environment
From our homes to schools, hospitals, and workplaces, gypsum-based building products are found in the walls and ceilings that define the spaces where we live and work. They deliver durable, energy-efficient interiors, support circular economy goals through recycled content, and play a key role in creating safe, high-quality buildings.
“Our new identity is more than a change of name – it signals our commitment to the future of construction,” said John Sinfield, Chair of the Gypsum Products Association. “The sector faces unprecedented challenges, from meeting net-zero goals to delivering safer buildings, and as the GPA we will lead with technical expertise, collaboration, and advocacy to ensure gypsum products remain central to safe, sustainable construction.”
Collaboration and leadership
Collaboration has always been central to the GPA’s mission. Its members, who represent the majority of the gypsum manufacturing sector in the UK and Ireland, work together to share technical expertise, reduce environmental impact and raise standards across the sector.
The rebrand comes at a pivotal moment for construction, with greater focus than ever on building safety, environmental performance, and the role of materials in meeting climate commitments. By balancing respect for its heritage with a forward-looking vision, the GPA aims to equip the industry with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver buildings that protect both people and the planet.
